Steam Potatoes
Pour the water into the inner cooking pot of the Instant Pot, and place a steamer basket inside. Put the cubed potatoes in the steamer basket.

Pressure Cook
6 minsLock the lid into place, select Steam, and adjust the pressure to High. Cook for 6 minutes. When the cooking is complete, quick-release the pressure.

Prepare Instant Pot
Unlock and remove the lid. Carefully remove the steamer basket and set the potatoes aside. Rinse and dry the inner liner. Place it back into the Instant Pot.

Sauté Flavorings
1 minsPreheat the Instant Pot by selecting Sauté and adjusting to More for high heat. When the pot is hot, add the ghee and heat until it is shimmering. Add the serrano pepper and cumin seeds, and let the seeds sputter and cook for about 15 seconds.

Combine and Serve
Add the turmeric (if using) and stir to mix. Add the potatoes and salt, and mix gently to coat the potatoes with the flavored ghee, taking care to not break them. Garnish with the cilantro and serve.
